- Did you know that 59% of online college students do in fact travel to campus between 1 and 5 times per year?
- Did you know that for the first time, a higher percentage of online students shopped around for the right school instead of checking into just one school?
- Did you know that 77% of online college students reported taking advantage of their school’s career services?
Take a look at the infographic of highlights from the report, Online College Students 2017: Comprehensive Data on Demands and Preferences conducted by Aslanian Market Research and The Learning House, Inc. Go here for more information and a full copy of the report.

Virginia Statute §23.1-909, enacted in 2015, states: “The Secretary of Education and the director of the Council [SCHEV], in consultation with each public institution of higher education and nonprofit private institution of higher education, shall develop a plan to establish and advertise a cooperative degree program whereby any undergraduate student enrolled at any public institution of higher education or nonprofit private institution of higher education may complete, through the use of online courses at any such institution, the course credit requirements to receive a degree at a tuition cost not to exceed $4,000, or the lowest cost that is achievable, per academic year.” Secretary Dietra Trent and SCHEV Director Peter Blake submitted a progress report on October 1, 2016.
NLCVA was asked to share opinions and insights about the proposed legislation as the progress report was developed. That input is included in the last page of the document.
